Visit www.visitbrokenhill.com.au.  Broken Hill is 50km (30 miles)from the border between New South Wales and South Australia.  The city is1165km (724 miles) from Sydney. 849km (527 miles) from Melbourne and 508 Km (316 miles) from Adelaide.

Broken Hill is serviced by Regional Express (Rex) Airlines www.rex.com.au from Sydney and Adelaide.  If you have more time you can travel here on the, internationally renowned Indian Pacific, The Ghan and the Overlander.  Great Southern Rail service Broken Hill from both Sydney and Adelaide.

There are no border crossing restrictions however quarantine regulations intended to reduce the spread of Fruit Fly apply to the transport of fruit and vegetables into Victoria and South Australia and restricted areas within NSW.  Marked roadside bins provided at the beginning of quarantine zones for the disposal of prohibited vegetable matter.  Random inspections occur from time to time and travellers not adhering to the regulations can be fined.
