Broken Hill is 50km (30miles) from the border between New South Wales and South Australia. The city is 1165km (724miles) from Sydney, 849km (527miles) from Melbourne and 508km (316miles) from Adelaide

Climate & Environment
Broken Hill is 315 metres (1,033 feet) above sea level. The climate is arid and usually dry but not always hot.  Daily temperatures range from 15C (59F) in June and July to 32C (90F) in January and February.  February is traditionally the hottest month
